Fastest remedy to get rid of a bad cold within a day or two?

i woke up this morning with a cold and it soon has become quite nasty. i start my first job ever on monday and it requires me to be up and proactive. i need help, but mainly i want to get rid of the flem( however u spell that :P) i don't mind being sick as long as i can walk around without crap coming out of my nose and coughing like an ***. i also need my voice bad! my throat is so soar i doubt i'd be able to do anything on monday, and to top it all off, i can't get rest over the weekend because i have pre-work and a party to throw :( please help asap!
